Time for an Afternoon Dip

For a couple weeks this summer, the air along the Columbia River Gorge was unusually thick with particulates from a distant fire. This made for the most beautiful sunsets with pink hazy skies. This painting was made plein air at Viento Park in Oregon which has a lovely beach access. It was excessively hot this week, and we all went for a refreshing dip just before I painted this piece.
